An Individual Approach to Care
Your health concern is only one part of the picture. Dr. Bali considers your health history, constitution, digestion, lifestyle, current concerns, and existing care when discussing an Ayurvedic approach suited to your needs.
Formulations, shipping and the law
Formulations Dr. Bali prescribes are dispensed in India and shipped to your Australian address by tracked courier, usually within 7 to 14 days. Each parcel carries an itemized invoice, an ingredient declaration, Dr. Bali's prescription and the batch certificate of analysis so that the Australian Border Force can assess it under the TGA personal importation scheme.
- The TGA personal importation scheme allows an individual to import up to a three-month supply of a therapeutic good for personal use, and every shipment stays within that limit.
- Calmvida formulations are not registered therapeutic goods and do not appear on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods; they are shipped for personal use on Dr. Bali's prescription.
- Mineral-based classical preparations (Bhasma) are not shipped to Australia. Dr. Bali prescribes plant-based formulations for patients abroad.
- Every batch is tested by an independent laboratory for heavy metals, pesticides and microbial contamination; the certificate travels with the parcel and is emailed to you.
- Biosecurity rules apply to plant material entering Australia, so formulations ship as finished, sealed products with a full ingredient declaration, and any duty or GST assessed is the patient's responsibility.
Payment. Fees are confirmed in AUD when your booking is accepted, and payment instructions are sent with the confirmation. An AUD receipt is issued for every consultation and formulation order.
Dr. Bali is licensed to practice Ayurveda in India. Ayurveda is not a profession registered by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and Dr. Bali holds no Australian registration. An online consultation is an Ayurvedic assessment and guidance provided from India; your GP remains your primary physician, and the consultation cannot issue Australian prescriptions, Medicare referrals or emergency care.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a real medical consultation, or is it wellness coaching?
This is a one-on-one Ayurvedic consultation with Dr. Arvinder Singh Bali, a qualified Ayurvedic physician with a BAMS degree and over 22 years of clinical practice. He reviews your health history and concerns and discusses personalized Ayurvedic guidance that is relevant to your situation.
What time zones are consultations available in?
Patients across Australia can book online consultations based on available slots. This covers Australian Eastern Time for Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, Central Time for Adelaide and Darwin, and Western Time for Perth, with most slots falling in the afternoon and evening.
Are Ayurvedic remedies legal and safe to use in Australia?
Requirements can vary depending on the type of care or formulation involved. Formulations prescribed by Dr. Bali are not registered therapeutic goods in Australia and enter under the personal importation scheme. How is this different from an Ayurvedic clinic in Sydney or Melbourne?
With Calmvida, you consult Dr. Bali directly, a named physician with more than two decades of clinical practice in India. Your appointment is a one-on-one video consultation rather than an appointment allocated to a rotating panel of practitioners, and the plan follows classical Ayurvedic assessment.
Can I book a single consultation, or do I need an ongoing program?
You can book an individual consultation. At the appointment Dr. Bali will listen to your concerns and explain what the next steps should be based on your individual situation.
Do I need to come to India for my online consultation?
No. You can do the consultation itself online securely from Australia. Whether any future face to face care or travel is appropriate will depend on your individual circumstances.
